In my personal belief and after listening to the npr reading/assignment I have realized that it is really hard for women to go back into a career or job that affected them negatively due to gender. The glass ceiling labor statistics shows that 49% business programs are filled by women other issues of sexism and corporate competition affect women. Women should be in more Significant positions and the econmist have stated that the above principle affect women from acheiving these high positions. The issues of what women prioritize comes into place. More and more women have to choose to put their corporation they work in is more important than their family by having the decision of moving from certain places in order to deal with a better position. I have known very good friend that has worked for IBM and has had to relocate to various states in order to maintain a good position but after having a child her competing position has changed as well as her pay rate. NPR interview suggests that there is a need of personal strength and determination to enter back into a profession where you know that you were mistreated. The glass ceiling has been a discouragement to women. Although there are more opportunities for women there is still an existence of barriers that women need to choose from in order to continue with their position. The whole notion of company over their personal life will continue to hinder women from obtaining successful positions.
